What sparked your love for adventure?

Hiking with my family during camping trips. My Dad loved leading these hikes and I attribute his passion to helping me.

What lessons have you gleaned from adventures have you been able to apply to your personal and professional life otherwise?

Going on a first date with the woman who ended up being my wife. We did a hike and have never stopped experiencing adventures since.

How do you prepare mentally and physically for your adventures?

Physically, I try to run and or lift weights every day of the week. I try to eat a well rounded diet and drink plenty of water. I get around 7-8 hours of sleep. Mentally, I tell myself to just have fun and that this not a competition against others. I am only trying to push myself to the limit within reason.

Do you have a bucket list of adventures? If so, what's at the top?

Yes. Swimming with great white sharks. (in a cage)

What role does solo adventuring play in your life?

I dont participate in a lot of solo adventures. I enjoy participating in adventures along side others more.

What’s the most unexpected thing you’ve encountered during an adventure?

Almost was struck by a deer while running a trail race.

Do you have any rituals or traditions for before or after your adventures?

Try to talk to others before or after. Usually enjoy a nice meal afterwards and change into my casual kilt.

What role does nature play in your life?

I am always trying to be outside no matter the weather or climate. Whether its exercise or relaxation, my comfort zone is outside.

How do you navigate setbacks or challenges during your adventures?

I just try to analyze the challenge and decide what is best for me.
